Ant-Man 3 Fan Poster Sees Cassie Lang’s Transformation Into Stinger

A new fan poster for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shows the characters geared up and ready to fight Kang, including Cassie Lang.

A new fan poster for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shows recently cast Kathryn Newton geared up as Stinger. Newton took over the role of Cassie Lang from Emma Fuhrmann, a move that was announced at Disney’s Investor Day. Fuhrmann played Cassie Lang, Scott Lang’s daughter, in Avengers: Endgame, taking over the role from Abby Ryder Fortson after the five-year time jump in that film.

Joining Newton are returning cast members Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Douglas. Peyton Reed is returning to direct after helming the first two films. Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) is joining the film as Kang the Conqueror. Not much else is known about the film, except for what its title alludes to.

A new fan poster by Psychboz shows the entire cast ready to fight. In vein with classic movie posters, the art shows Lilly, Rudd, Pfeiffer, and Douglas geared up. Next to Rudd stands Newton, also in her gear as Stinger, the hero Lang’s daughter becomes. Kang the Conqueror ominously looks over the group from behind. Check out the full poster below:

The most exciting part of the poster is surely Newton dressed up as Stinger. Newton’s burgeoning stardom, after roles in Big Little Lies and this fall’s horror hit Freaky, is probably one of the main reasons the star was cast, portending big things to come for Cassie Lang. As the studio fleshes out their next generation of heroes, Newton being cast is a promising sign of things to come for the actress and the character. While her powers don’t manifest for quite some time, she eventually becomes Stinger, fighting alongside her father and, eventually, the Young Avengers.

With characters like Kate Bishop and Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel joining the MCU, it looks like Marvel may be gearing up to introduce that team. Pfeiffer recently said that the film will come out in 2022 and although Marvel has not announced any films past Phase 4, it would make sense that this is what they’re aiming for. With a severe lack of female heroes in their first three phases, these young characters are the perfect opportunity to diversify their roster and shine a spotlight on the new generation. There’s no word whether or not Newton will be flexing her powers in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but it would make sense for her to at least begin experimenting with her abilities in the upcoming film, especially because it would be foolish to waste an up and coming actress like Newton on such a small role.
